In a wedding film, clothes organise family groups and social tension; in a thriller, repetition or disarray can reveal a character’s changing state. Costume is therefore narrative information, not a fashion intermission.

Credit matters. Designers, tailors, textile makers and dressers should be named clearly because their choices shape how audiences remember a film.
