Information processed when you visit
Our hosting and security providers may automatically process limited technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, requested pages, approximate location and timestamps. This information is used to deliver the site, prevent abuse, diagnose faults and understand aggregate traffic.
Email briefing
If you join The Africa Brief, we store the email address you provide, the signup source and subscription status so we can deliver the publication and honor unsubscribe requests. We do not sell subscriber addresses. You may unsubscribe from any edition.
Newsroom accounts and uploads
The public site does not require readers to create an account. Authorized newsroom users may sign in to manage articles and upload media. Authentication and uploaded content are processed only for those editorial functions.
Advertising and Google services
If Google advertising is enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses or similar identifiers to deliver, measure and personalize ads where permitted. Third parties may place or read cookies in a visitor’s browser as a result of ad serving. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Where consent is legally required—including for eligible visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland—advertising cookies and personalized ads must not be activated until the required choice has been collected through a Google-certified consent platform.
Your choices
You can limit or delete cookies through your browser settings. Google also provides controls for ad personalization through its advertising settings. Blocking some essential storage may affect protected newsroom functions, but public articles remain readable without signing in.
External links
Articles may link to publishers, public institutions, hotels and tourism authorities. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies; Na Wetin Dey Happen is not responsible for how those independent sites process information.
