Cinema or streaming is no longer a simple choice
Nigerian films now move through theatres, subscriptions, television and YouTube in different orders.
By Culture & Screen Desk · Nollywood, lifestyle and cultural reporting · 2 min read
A cinema opening can create publicity and box-office evidence; streaming can reach viewers across Nigeria and the diaspora; YouTube can remove a paywall. Each window serves a different commercial purpose.
The professional question is not which medium wins, but whether producers retain enough information and rights to plan the next film. Audience data should support creative businesses, not disappear inside platforms.
