Cherish O. Akpasubi
Editor-in-Chief
Cherish O. Akpasubi provides editorial leadership for Na Wetin Dey Happen, guiding its coverage of African news, enterprise, diaspora achievement, culture, hospitality, tourism and Nollywood. Her work centres clarity, evidence, dignity and a recognisably African editorial perspective.
“Our task is to make Africa’s complexity readable without diminishing its dignity.”
Editorial mandate
Accountable leadership behind every edition
The Editor-in-Chief sets priorities across the publication, challenges weak assumptions, protects the distinction between verified fact and interpretation, and insists that every article earn its headline. That responsibility also extends to photography, attribution, corrections and the respectful treatment of communities represented in the work.
Cherish’s editorial vision gives equal seriousness to breaking events and constructive African achievement. The purpose is not to manufacture optimism or dwell exclusively on crisis, but to publish a fuller record of African life—its institutions, enterprise, creativity, conflict, memory and possibility.
