One Gidi Night takes Nollywood into Lagos neo-noir
James Abinibi writes, directs and produces a thriller built around one dangerous night.

Opening in cinemas on 11 September, One Gidi Night follows a rideshare driver and passenger pulled into a violent chase after a chance encounter. Gabriel Afolayan, Uzor Arukwe, Wumi Toriola and Ibrahim Yekini lead the ensemble.
Calling the film neo-noir sets a visual and moral expectation: Lagos must operate as more than a backdrop. The city’s night traffic, unequal power and compressed encounters can become part of the suspense itself.
