Durbar celebrations in cities such as Kano and Katsina are associated with major Muslim festivals and emirate traditions. Horsemen, palace officials, musicians and communities assemble in carefully ordered public processions.

Visitors should remember that Durbar is lived culture, not a costume parade arranged for cameras. Following security instructions, seeking permission for close portraits and respecting prayer times make attendance more responsible.
